Not a developer, a designer...
I build my sites using the Squarespace Platform. I am part of the Squarespace Forum as a premium designer. The first response from customers when I tell them this is always, "Can't I do that myself?" My answer is "Yes, yes you can." But the realities are simple. I have been doing Squarepsace sites since their beginning, I know the platform well, I know how to manipulate it to work for you and simply, websites and Squarespace are not your expertise. Do what you do best, and I will do the same.
Gary Gasper of Marker wrote this great explanation of why Squarespace has key advantages for you. He stated...
1. Smaller budget
Because I don’t need to write code with Squarespace, I will be able to produce a website for a significantly lower cost which I’ll be able to pass onto you.
You will be happy and you’ll be able to free up additional budget for other marketing initiatives.
2. Faster delivery
Usually, when a client reaches out to me for a new website, it’s urgent. They want it and they want it fast. If I'm building the website with Squarespace, I can cut down the time between the first contact and the moment when the website goes live to a days.
3. Better idea of the end-result
It’s always tough for a new client to imagine what your website will look like. You'll usually have a list of websites you like but you can’t ever be sure you understand exactly what you want. By showing you previous websites I've built on Squarespace, you will have an easier time imagining what the end result will look like.
4. More empowered
You can easily add, remove and update your own content. It’s a lot more intuitive than WordPress or Drupal. You won’t need to contact me for minor updates and will be more autonomous.
5. More reliable
Since most of the back-end work is handled by the folks at Squarespace, the code base is always top notch and extremely reliable. The risk of having their website down is much lower than self-hosted solutions. Security updates are also handled by Squarespace so your client never has to worry about that.
